Do You Dream of Sushi?
If you like food porn, this is it because I know that I can't wait to see the movie Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Wait! I can't wait to eat at the restaurant that serves the sushi prepared by Ono Jiro, the sushi chef featured in the movie. Here is a synopsis:
JIRO DREAMS OF SUSHI is the story of 85 year-old Jiro Ono, considered by many to be the world’s greatest sushi chef. He is the proprietor of Sukiyabashi Jiro, a 10-seat, sushi-only restaurant inauspiciously located in a Tokyo subway station. Despite its humble appearances, it is the first restaurant of its kind to be awarded a prestigious 3 star Michelin review, and sushi lovers from around the globe make repeated pilgrimage, calling months in advance and shelling out top dollar for a coveted seat at Jiro’s sushi bar.
Luckily, I came across the blog, A Life Worth Eating, that has an excellent review of Sukiyabashi Jiro and accompanying photos that left me hungry and angry for being unable to sit at this very moment in front of the mouthwatering pieces of Ono Jiro's sushi.
"Chef Jiro Ono has been recognized by the Japanese government as a national treasure and “modern master” for his contributions to Japanese cuisine. He has received three Michelin stars. The awards an accolades for this masterful chef are endless. And to believe he is over 80 years old."
