ERIC L. ROBINSON
BACKGROUND
Eric L. Robinson grew up in Detroit, Michigan and is presently a Permanent Resident of Japan having spent approximately three decades in the country.
He is a US Marine Corps Veteran having served as a Tactical Interrogator - Translator (Japanese and Korean languages) and Human Intelligence Analyst. Eric is a graduate of the Basic and Intermediate Korean language programs, Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center, Presidio of Monterey, California. He completed his Advanced Korean studies at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. He earned his Master of Arts in Security Studies – Far East, South East Asia, and Pacific from the United States Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
He is the Founder of Black Tokyo Godo Kaisha, located in Yokosuka, Japan, that serves as serves a key goods and services provider in support of the US Forces in Japan.
BLACK TOKYO
Black Tokyo was established in January 1999 as an online forum. For many years, it was the only online resource for those of the African Diaspora interested in learning about Japan from an Afro-perspective. Black Tokyo remains a key source of information for those seeking to learn more about Japan.
On the social media front, Eric is a YouTube Creator. He is a former-comedic actor whose role as Afro Eric made him very popular with Japanese television viewers. As a Creator,, he is focused on growing his trademarked edutainment brands, Black Tokyo and Afro Eric, via licensing deals, publications, and select goods, and services.
