Event: Democrats Abroad "Thank You, Obama" Candlelight March and Vigil

Americans living in Japan will hold a series of events that are open to the public in connection with the U.S. presidential inauguration, including a march and a vigil near the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo to thank outgoing President Barack Obama for his service and to thank our civil servants for the work they do for Americans overseas.
"DAJ will be holding a candlelight march to express our appreciation for progress made over the past eight years -- progress that we hope to see protected going forward. Join us as we march by candlelight from Hibiya Park in Chiyoda-ku to Mikawadai Park in Roppongi (about an hour.) Our message will be: Protect __X__ because of __Y__. Anyone is welcome to take part, regardless of nationality or DAJ membership. However, we ask that all participants respect the message and the spirit of the march."

DAJ asks that you please RSVP so that they can give the traffic police an idea of the number planning to attend. You can easily join the DAJ event via Facebook. Click here for additional information and to join via the DAJ website. Arigato to Ms. Jenise Treuting for spreading the word!
